Gobi desert - Northern China

Being one of the largest deserts in the Asia, Gobi desert laminates parts of north and north western china along with southern Mongolia. It is actually one of those desert where rains are not found even in years, due to the fact that it is near Himalaya, a restraint area for the rain carrying clouds, making it as a rain shadowed region. It is the largest sand dune in Asia and the 4th largest worldwide. The history of Gobi desert dates back to the time when the ancient silk road traveled over the southern parts of the Asia Shan desert all across Ka shun Gobi.
